Keep those buckets

5 gal plastic buckets have a multitude of uses.

Besides the obvious, they make mouse proof storage if you keep the lids. I cut them off on my table saw to make 'made to order' dog food and watering dishes (attractive too). The collars go into the vegetable garden to keep moles away from my plants.

In shorter growing season areas, raising tomatoes in 5 gal buckets, with drain holes punched in the bottom, will produce ripe fruit in less time by keeping the roots away from the cold ground.
