Hammer a Brad Nail Without Smashing Your Finger

If you have large hands, holding onto a tiny brad nail while pounding it into the wall for hanging a picture can be painful.

Next time try using a hair pin (bobby pin) to hold the nail in place as you get it started. Then just pull the hair pin off and drive the nail in as far as desired.

If you don't have any hair pins handy, you can also use needle-nose pliers to hold it.
