Drought
One time in the late 50's we had a drought in Southeast Missouri that lasted for about two months. My Uncle said that he had allways heard that if you plowed cotton that it would cause the moisture to come up. So one morning while he was plowing he plowed four rows and then looked back and sure enough it did look a little moist so he turn around and plowed the same rows again. This time when he looked back he could definately tell it was a little more moist. He kept this up, plowing the same four rows over and over again until he had the tractor stuck all the way to its axle.
