Potato Patch
My introduction to farming was when I was 17 years old, I was city born and bred, my male friend,of the time, asked me if I would like to earn some money by (hand) picking up potatoes, being the adventurous kind I said of course, so away I went every weekend to the spud patch, in the dust and heat I picked for hours and hours and hours, going home to the city at dusk, filthy dirty, worn out but happy, this was my first intro to farm life and it went on from there, marrying a farmer, 43 years down the track, for myself there is no other way of life.
