The Old Farmhouse
When I was a kid I went with a neighbor to an old Norwegian couple's farm to get a Christmas tree. Growing up in the city, I had no idea what it would be like. We got there, trudged around for what seemed all day, looking for trees.

We finally found the right tree, cut it, and made the long trek back to the farmhouse. When we got there, it was just about dark and my neighbor's Grandmother had a fire going in her wood cookstove, she was cooking Lefse.

I just remember the warmth of the stove, the small room of the farmhouse, the wonderful smells and thought about how great it would be to have that kind of life when I grew up.

Maybe that was one of the things that led me to finally find my own farm.
