Memories Of My Childhood
I remember growing up every holiday my Grandparents (Dave and Velva Fender) would have all the family there at the house. There would be lots of food and the women would be talking and the men would be outside talking and the children would all be playing. This was some of my most precious memories of my Dads family. This is the times you learned who was getting married and who was going to have a baby. I can not forget about my uncle Simon, What a cook if he thought it he cooked it, He made the most amazing oyster dressing. My Dad, Gary and Jimmy were so much alike they usally fussed at the holidays but we all learned to look over them. My aunt Verlin was the funny one. She was always giving the new guys in the family a hard time but she was and still is such a hoot. I was always trying to think of a new prank to pull on aunt Lex and everytime I pulled one Uncle Jimmy got the blame. Most of My Dads Family is gone. My Dad Was robbed of Life at the early age of 49. He died with lung cancer.
