The Long Dusty Road
I grew up in a small rural Alabama town. My life was shaped by long dusty roads, the smell of hay fields in the summer heat, yellow school buses on cold winter mornings, crackling fireplaces in the dim of the evening night, corn bread for supper meals, and the laughter and love of family all around me.

Mother always in the kitchen,Daddy asleep in his chair and us kids scattered throughout the house. The old dog barking, the tree frogs singing in the trees. Oh, how I love to let my mind wander back to the time when people did not search for happiness but lived it.

My life has covered many years and taken many turns. I have gone many miles from home but what is in my heart and always will be is the time I spent living on those long dusty roads.
