Ingredients: 1/2 cup chopped onion. 1 medium 1 clove garlic, minced . 2 tablespoons margarine or butter. 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Dash salt. 1 1/4 cups milk. 3 Idaho medium potatoes. 1 pound potatoes. 1 cup of velveeta cheese . soft yellow block cheese Directions: 1. Grease a 1 1/2 quart casserole and set it aside. For your sauce, in a tall sided frying pan put in some butter and add your onions and garlic tender not brown . Stir in flour,pepper,salt and add milk all at once. stir till simmer add your cheese in cubes making sure you dont burn the milk may need to add a small amount of water. keep stirring ! till all is smooth and bubbly. 2. Thinly slice potatoes and layer the bottom greased casserole dish with the first layer add your sauce with a big spoon or laddle. repeat this making three layers of potatoes and sauce. Top off the potatoes with the remaining sauce. 3. Bake, covered , 350 Degree oven for 40 minutes. Uncover and bake about 30 minutes more or till potatoes are tender and cheese is not burning.
