Enough mashed potatoes used by YOUR
family for a dinner
1 or less stick of butter
salt and pepper
bit of chopped parsley or chives
2 tablespoons sour cream
cup of cooked corn
Wash, chop and cook potatoes.
Drain potatoes and place back in pot with butter, milk, salt, pepper, parsley or chives, sourcream and cooked corn.
Mash all together until fluffy adding 'a bit more' any of the above ingredients until it tastes right for your family.<
My mom used much more sour cream and corn in this recipe because we all loved it that way.
It's all a matter of taste, so adjust accordingly to your own.<
There were times she'd use cans of creamed corn instead, but remember to use LESS milk and butter.
This Polish dish is used with any form of meat dinners.
For a bit extra flavor and taste, especially on holidays, she'd mix in or sprinkle heavily on top fried, crumbled bacon bits.
Another option is to add dill, again, into or on top....color and texture was an ongoing tradition in our home.
