2c. sifted, all purpose flour
3 teasp. fresh baking powder
1/2 teasp. salt (or less)
1/3 c. shortening (white Crisco)
3/4 c. milk
Oven 450 deg.
Sift dry ingredients into bowl.
shortening til like coarse crumbs.

quickly with fork just till dough follows fork around bowl.

Knead gently 10-12 strokes.
Roll or pat dough 1/2 inch thick.
