Hay-Time Switchel
Ingredients:
2 cups sugar
1 cup molasses
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1 teaspooon ground ginger
1 gallon water

Directions:
This is a refreshing, energy-boosting drink that was used in the old days by farmers to quench their thirst during the heavy work of harvest season.<
Heat all of the ingredients in 1 quart of the water until the ingredients are dissolved.
Then add the remaining water.
Chill and serve.
Makes 1 gallon.
