Yup, hard to believe it but was on CNN. A Green Bay WI. Husband going on vacation hid his handguns and ammo in the oven without telling his wife. She apparently lit the oven and bullets started flying. Sort-a embarrased to be from the same state. Hope he isn't a Packer fan!

Remember when the Madison, Wisconsin chief of police put his gun in the oven, then reheated some leftover turkey? About 2 years back? RN

Saw that also and had this thought. Is it possible that the wife may think that her husband did that on purpose and is it possible that the husband will be looking over his shoulder for some time to come?

my MIL (who's now being cared for) used to keep her plastic bowls in the oven. sure enough, one day it got turned on and smoked everything up. not that i can brag much - we have a popiel rotis thing and i always forget stuff on top of it. one day i tried cooking a bath towel and another time i was puzzled by the streaks running down the glass door - here i'd left a big plastic pan on it and the whole bottom melted out. :(

I hear you there--though I'm a bachelor myself, I was recently invited over to a friend's house for dinner and his wife (gorgeous gal, but he didn't marry her for her cooking....) turned on the oven to pre-heat it for the garlic bread I'd bought as my contribution. About 15 minutes later, we went to the kitchen to investigate the awful stench coming from the oven, only to find some month-old hamburgers she'd forgotten to take out the last time she'd used it. Apparently she'd put them back in to keep them warm and forgot they were there.......
