sitting here tonight playing on this computer i kept getting phone calls , just looked at the call display it said 12. all 12 were telemarketers, somebody must of started a rumor that i won the lottery or something, sure do like playin with their minds though, thinking some of them must be into masochism or something, they keep callin.

Telemarketers have almost dried up here since I registered for the "do not call list." Apparently it is working, or maybe the telemarketers haven't bought a chunk of telephone time in this area code. Seems before the list, we'd get a whole bunch of calls, then it'd dry up for a while, I figured that the telemarketing companies were buying chunks of time in various areas, then moving on for a while. They are sure a pain! Now if I could just dump the internet spam.

Last week when I was suffering from sinus infection, coughing, sneezing and losing my voice, two telemarketers, apologized, said they would call another time and hung up!
You know I had to sound bad to have that effect on them!! LOL

Buy a telezapper from Wallmart for about $40.00 and you will never regret it! Cuts calls by about 95% after a week, then down to practically nothing. It sends back a signal that erases your number from their computer files. OR: put your name on a federal or state "do not call list". They are fined if they call a number on that list.

it could be worse toolman.

Here a few years back my phone started ringing like wild fire and it was all my neighbors seeing if me and Ma needed anything and how sorry they were to hear my son had got killed.

I tore out to my son's house when I could'nt get him on the phone. Then I came back home and started calling the hospitals. Sure enough when I gave them the name for my son they referred me to the state troopers.

I called the troopers and sure enough they gave me their condolences and confirmed that he was killed in a car wreck.

I was going into a mass panic. Where and what condition was his wife and my granbabies???

My son and his family walked in our house about 9pm on their way home from Christmas shopping. They could'nt understand how come me and Ma was loving on them like we had'nt seen them in years til we told them the news.

The dead man turned out to be a man with the same name that had just moved into the same small town about 10 miles away.

Folks kept calling the DIL all night and the next day.

wow i,ll bet you and your wife were going out of your mind , what a thing to have happen.wonder ya never fell over when he walked in.kinda makes the telemarkers a little easier to take now, sure glad things turned the way they did for you.when my folks were still alive and the phone would ring in the middle of the night i would wake up in a cold sweat and answer it always fearing the worst as my mom was sick for a long time, usually was just a wrong number or a old friend who thought i still partied and wanted someone to go bar hoppin with them .

I know the feeling. My Mama lived to be 89. She enjoyed mostly good health just about all of it.

Yeah I always worried about late calls with Mama, but we have 3 boys and 2 girls and I always slept light raising them too.

I don't bellyache about the kids calling me. I keep a 800 number so they aint got and excuse not to call Papa. I originally got it for Mama to use but it works good for grandkiddoes too.

Me and some of the grands sat out under the trees eating ice cream this afternoon. It was 75 degrees and sunny all day.

well it was about 62 and sunny here but about 4 ft of snow all around so no ice cream, i use to chuckle sometimes about worring about mom and dad when the phone would ring and wonder if it wasn,t somekind of pay back for all those nights i kept my folks up worrying about me, i know there was many a night that us kids were an all night worry for them .
