This am my 11 yr old daughter put on several strings of Mardi Gras beads given to her by her grnd mother after grandparents visited Mardi Gras a few years ago. As she did, she related to me that she watched "Cops" last night. She indicated that she learned, on that show, that women get the beads by "flashing their chests," and that her grandmother must be a wild woman. I can't wait to ask my MIL about THAT over Sunday dinner!
P>S I also asked my daughter what people might think about her wearing the beads to school. ....She turned beet red and took them off.

She just might surprise ya with the answer! Being from NO I've seen my share of cut-loose Granny's during Mardi Gras there.Makes ya a believer in sedation meds fer the elderly... :^)
