It seems like every fifteen minutes they come up with a new law to compensate for the lack of common sense nowadays. There is currently a task force in place in Florida to combat road rage. People are now ticketed for too many lane changes whether they use a signal or not AND WHETHER THEY ARE SPEEDING OR NOT.

The logic behind it is that frequent lane changes indicate a driver in a hurry and already on the path to losing his temper and lapsing into road rage. Now as far as I know there is no law currently in place that says that you can only change lanes so many times in a certain number of miles, but it doesn't seem to matter. Now they just spring it on you.

'YOU'RE BEING TICKETED FOR SPORADIC LANE CHANGES'

I understand the reasoning, but I also know that driving in Florida where a great majority of the population is over sixty five and still driving based on 1960's traffic laws, that sometimes in order to do the speed limit you must change lanes frequently to get out from behind the 50 mile and hour drivers or risk getting run over from behind.

lol, thats the silliest law I ever heard of...so far anyway, I am sure they will top that one in no time.

Chasing murderers, robbers & other crooks costs money.

Writing tickets makes money.

Which do you think the cops are told to spend their time doing?

Plus....    Posted 02-26-2004 at 06:05:06       [Reply]  [No Email]
You're a lot less likely to be shot chasing a guy who is rushing to get to work at the Stop and Shop. I know who I would go after if I was a cop. The one least likely to kill me.

I haven't had a ticket since 1993.....(?)

And that was on a two-lane road. Now Fred on the other hand....can you say points? The man does way too much driving and gets in far too bigga hurry.

Hey, history speaks:

Cindi...ten years....2 tickets

Fred....ten years....12 tickets (thereabouts)

Yeah somebody did, but not me. I saw it on the news this morning. The guy didn't seem to me to be a likely candidate for road rage until they handed him the ticket to prevent it. Talk about your bass-akwards way of doing things. If you think a guy might have a case of road rage coming on, give him a ticket! Yep, that'll cure it.

???

Just pickin...    Posted 02-26-2004 at 05:30:20       [Reply]  [No Email]
I remember the conversation we had about going fast to get past mud and such and made me think you had gotten a ticket...

Ain't ever seen a cop out here. Morning or night dozens of ladies, most of got to cross in front od me just seeing me coming.
How come nobody considers writing any of them a ticket?

Oh I know...    Posted 02-26-2004 at 05:34:38       [Reply]  [No Email]
I'm sitting here smiling. I would have thought the same thing myself. I should have used my old standby disclaimer..

"Now... this didn't happen to me, but...."

(There IS the potential that it COULD happen to me, it just hasn't yet :0)
