well i think its almost official, the country page is a first cousin to the tractor tales page. basically a slow moving chat room. lets see the sun rose at my place this morning, did you read about the three headed calf, this guy is all wrong for the country but my guy is perfect, did you read this story about fellow that caught his big toe in the tub drain. good grief. does anyone know where to go to discuss country related items? well,,,at least its cheaper than the old party lines we had in the country years ago.

What exactly are looking to talk about? There are a lot of great people here with a lot of great information. Does it have to be serious all the time? I think it is nice to see people having good, fun, and friendly conversations with each other. They all have one thing in common it seems to me. They enjoy living in the country and all that comes with it....even the sun coming up in the morning. I have been to boards and asked questions about things that were country related. The response I got was less than pleasant. Redneck, hillbilly, white get the idea. I have never gotten that here.

Since Kim took away the "People" part of the KL site, most of the stuff that used to have a home over there is now here. Hey, when you put out the welcome mat......

I don't see a problem; I read the posts that interest me and stay away from those that don't. Wait a minute... they ALL interest me! But if they didn't, that's what I'd do.

Mostly, I like this site for what it is, but when I want to be serious and stay on topic, I go to CountryByNet, link below.

Thanks for the link. I just registered and will be checking it out over the next few days. KL and YT is great for tractors and stuff, but sometimes you need answers to other questions.

Yep, I too like this one for it's purpose, and like you I have a couple that I use when I want to get down to serious ag topics.
Some of them big boys are wayyy to serious, and some are wayyy to flipant, but in general when I post a question, I get real, and accurate responses. Shoot one guy offered free plows and cultivators, just junk in his pile, more like gold to me!!
Keep this board as it is, it's fun.

Thanks, looks like a good    Posted 02-28-2004 at 05:12:36       [Reply]  [Send Email]

I keep up with several of 'em. I see you on Homesteading a lot, I hit Vehicles, Gardens, Livestock, Tools, Barns and Buildings and Fabrication mostly.

I've been yelled at so many times on different web sites for being off topic that I tend to stay on the most general forum on the site. I mostly just post stories there. There are a few folks that want to read them over there. Kountrylife is one of the few places that I go for actual conversation.

I go there too once or twice a week. Michael Young, the web director there is supposed to start running my column on that site sometime this week.
