Didn't mean to sound like a kid with a new toy but DANG that was fun! As many of you know, i've been trying to turn an old gas golf cart into a "poor man's ATV" - well she's getting darn close now. I had the usual hiccups - spark plug blew out, wouldn't run without full choke, the usual.

To start with, that thing had like 6" ground clearance, so i raised the bed & enlarged the 18" to 20" tires, not enough grip. so i drilled-in(28) 1/4" bolts to stud each tire. And added innertubes. Then meanwhile i put a ragtop body on it. Well i'm a big guy and you put a 2-person cab on a 3-foot cart and it kinda starts looking more like a motorized outhouse than anything, but i don't care, it's comfy.

So today i finished jacking up the fenderwells just about dark so decided to give it a ride. Woowee! It must have been the warmer air or slush or what, but it lit up like a dragster, found a whole new gear and before i knew it i was bouncing along thru snowdrifts and laughing and my feet were wet (who knows?) and i tell ya, i had more fun in that 10-minute cart ride than oughta be legal! And you can see ruts around here that would give ya religion! Now we'll see how the kids like it. And the best part is - it's all scrap and junk (except the innertubes and a can of gas :)

I was allways told nothing I built would fall down because of all the nails I use to put it together! If nothing else the iron in it was like beams or re/bar. Hope your feeling better!! Mark H.
