F14 and others,
Are you brooding and hatching your own chicks or are you replacing your stock? I'm looking for contact info for hatcheries besides McMurrey. Nothing against them, just looking for other alternatives.

You may want to try Marti Poultry Farm, Phone number is 660/647/3256 they are located at Windsor,Mo.,{one of my favorites}

Smith Poultry and Game bird supplies Located at Bucyrus,Ks Ph.# 913/879/2587 or www.poultrysupplies.com

Cackle Hatchery 417/532/4581 Lebanon, Mo {one of my favorites}

Poultry and game breeders catalogue equipment and supplies from Savannah,Georgia Ph# 812/236/0651

And then there is Strombergs {a little high I think} they are from Minnesota Ph# 800/720/1134 or 218/587/2222

And I buy all of my medical needs out of the Omaha Vaccine catalog, I have several but ohama is cheaper and the orders get here fast, cold packed in I have never had a problem in the 8 years I've used them, 800/367/4444 or www.omahavaccine.com One catalog is for farm animals and another for pets, they are free.

I freshen up the flock every other year or so with a dozen new birds. I get Black Sexlinks from the local Feed and Seed as day-old chicks. Not sure who THEY get 'em from, but have had very good luck.

We've dealt with Clearview Hatcheries in Gratz PA several times, and they've always been great. Very good stock, nice folks to deal with.

We've also bought equipment only from Stromberg's, and they always been good.

The link below lists a bunch of options.

Good Luck,
Tom
