yeah they can definitely get pricey if you print alot - i started with a Mr.Inkjet kit(with the needles and gloves etc) with my old printer so now i just get new ink jugs. I'm down to maybe $40/year now. Almost any cartidge can be drilled & refilled, even if you have to seal the new hole with a dab of RTV and elctrical tape. Some WILL surprise you so use a cakepan or do it over the sink. If a head dries up, soak it loose with water & a splash of vinegar, then sop it up & try printing again. :)

My printer uses 4 cartridges in a similar price range that you mention.

I have been using all-ink.com for two years, they sell after market or 'no brand' cartridges. The price is usually about $45 or almost 1/2! Recently I got 2 sets for under $60!! Shipping is free on orders over $40 and everything I have ordered has arrived in 2-3 days.

This is in no way an indorsement of the company in the link below. A co-worker sent me this link after I had a similar rant at work, so I am passing it along. There are many like businesses providing this type of product.

Wal-Mart sells remanufactured ink cartridges for most all printers. About 1/2 to `1/3 the cost for new ones. We use them all the time and have had zero problems.
