This is not meant to be sarcastic, but has anyone ever heard of a person being charged with using these radios without a license? Back in the CB craze I never heard of one. If I had them I wouldn't spend a lot of time worrying about it.

Back before CB became a craze. My buddy got a citation for asking for a radio check. That happened while he was in Florida.
I got a warning for saying shut on a call to my base unit. In the early 60s. I phoned the FCC and explained the situation (I was informed on the radio that one of my daughters got in troubele in school when she clocked some guy that grabbed her b**b). The guy I talked to said they were monitoring the whole conversation. He said he would have probably said worse.
CB went all to heck once the truckers took it over.
Back in those days most of us were hams also. I met some good friends on the radio.

Nope, I have never heard of anyone getting into trouble for not having a license to use them. We use small two ways here, of limited range, to keep track of each other in the hills. When friends come out and hunt with me, we use them, and I keep one with me all of the time when I am up in the trees cutting timber alone, just in case I have an incident. I need to get licensed for it, as I never did. Seems I ahve the form somewhere, probably with the warantee cards.
