...skimming over the posts I missed today, and I can relate to several of them. Our water pump wouldn't shut off today either. We installed a new pressure switch and then the pump just ran and ran. Finally figured out we needed to adjust some doomaflotchy or another and it finally started acting right.

We spent all day building a new pen for the weanling pigs so I was butt deep in squealers, catching them and moving them. I tried to sneak up on one that was lying out in the middle of the pasture, tippy-toeing up there like Elmer Fudd on the track of a wabbit and got right up on it before I realized it was dead as a door nail. Stiff as a twenty-cent loaf of bread. I was wondering why he didn't run. No clue what happened to it. Chunky little ten pounder, healthy as a horse, except for the being dead part.

My truck gave me trouble and chose today to not want to start after we filled it full of refuse for the trash hole out back. I found an ant pile but didn't know I found it until they were crawling up both of my pants legs so I got frisky in the middle of the yard running around in my underwear. I yelled at Jake in Walmart and then again at the gas station and I didn't care how many raised eyebrows went to waggling. He had it coming.

The icing on the cake was coming home. Someone had run over a possum. I have no particular love for possums, but this one was trying to drag it's half destroyed body out of the road, from a large puddle of blood on the center line. It just made my blood boil. Possums are another creature that tend to move pretty slow and don't as a rule dart out into traffic but kind of waddle along. It was full dark and I saw it in way plenty of time to stop and I reckon that someone just ran over it for kicks and I can't stand that, and Alias I read your post about the menopause thing, lots of wisdom there and I will get back to my editing duties as soon as I get a half a chance.

Theres just not enough hours in the day, and I don't have enough energy for all that we have to do. I don't know what happened to me. I used to keep the house clean, the laundry and the dishes done, the yard spectacular, the vehicles clean. WHA HAPPEND??? I got older and I got slower I guess.

Some days you just want to cancel. Sounds like you had one of those days. Sorry about your baby piggy. Spring may bring new life, but sometimes it brings death along with it. :( Ant bites suck, and the truck not starting REALLY sucks. Not to mention the poor ole possum.

I bet you are dog tired, I know I am. I still managed to cook dinner. Got my hair colored early today, got that out of the way, glad I did. Now I got to get Shelby in the shower, and get things ready for a regular hectic Monday morning.

I hope tomorrow is better for you. I will let you know what Mama says about the herbal medicines.

I am going to get four wyandottes tomorrow. Because I just don't have a THING to do, lol. Its fun, even though some see it as work. OH! I had one of the chicks in the living room today, Sasha kept hopping around trying to get it to play, chicken just looked at her. Then, the chicken came over and looked at me, and with a hop skip jump, and flap, she was on my shoulder!!! LOL Tickled me silly! Ian says, well, they really seem to like you! :)

Have a good nights sleep Cindi, keep your cool. ;)

Kelly, I had to show you    Posted 03-07-2004 at 18:24:59       [Reply]  [Send Email]

These are two of my Silver Laced Wyandottes. They are quite the characters. They were having a little arguement here over a bug. I have 5 of them, 4 Partridge Rocks, 5 Speckled Sussex and 5 Black Austalorps. Of all my chickens I like the Speckled Sussex and Wyandottes best. They are full of personality.

Cindi, sounds like you had a day! Now go soak in a hot bath, you'll feel better.

Thanks :)    Posted 03-07-2004 at 18:32:21       [Reply]  [No Email]
I just hated losing that one chick, and then I decided I would go get some more. Going to let Shelby stick her little hand in and pick them out for me after school. She just loves these chickens, and so do I. Thanks for sharing the pic of yours. They are really pretty! Now I am really excited! :)

Shelby already has names for them:

Misty, Spring, Summer, and Dottie. lol! Cute, eh?

Just talked to my band folks who live in Hernando. They were just back from Sarasota and saw road signs for Zolfo Springs and were remembering our sojourn there 2 years ago.
So what was the name of the Bluegrass band? Did they play under the big roof down at the far end?

Kelly I don't know. I used to be the same way. Fred used to yell at me for snatching his plate out from under him and washing it before he had circled it with his bread. (It's a Fred thing)Anymore he 's lucky if he gets the bread.

Sorry Fawteen, just a little glimpse there into the way my mind works. (grin)

Les, I would have to go find the newspaper to answer that and I couldn't crawl to the faucet right now if I was on fire. Can I tell you tomorrow?

Fern, were you wanting pictures of the dead pig? Lol!

...underwear at lemon.

Never mind my sick humor.
Thankfully there's not been to many folk making appointments with me for my kountry dentestry. I'd have to hire help just to line them up.

I do hope you're feeling better. And, I hope your reality Fred gives yah an extra hug when its appropriate.
Rest well tonite.
