pocket watches made anymore? I have had three or four in the last couple years and they just don't hold up. They either fall apart or just stop. I admit these have been gifts and are not top of the line but, are there any worth buying? Wrist watches don't work real good for me as they always get in the way. I don't mind spending a little more for one if it will last a good long time. I figured if it's out there you guys would know. I don't want one for putting on a shelf, it has to go in a pocket and get used. Thanks.

I'm an old fashined kinda guy so I prefer antique pocket watches. Have had several over the years which all performed flawlessly if you get em cleaned and serviced every couple of years. Last one I carried daily was an 18 size Elgin 15 jewel made in 1902 and it still runs like a top. I also have my grandad's fancy South Bend pocket watch which I use for dress up occasions

I don't know about pocket watches but I wear
Timex wrist watches, Theyre tough, reasonably
priced and a VERY GOOD waurranty. once chopped
one up with a bush-hog, scraped up all the
peices i could find, mailed it to them and they
sent me a NEW ONE for half price.

Been carrying a "Swiss Army" pocket watch for about 6 years now. Battery powered, keeps excellent time and the face doesn't get scratched (does not have a cover). Been through the clothes washer, been dropped and have even used it to drive some push pins into drywall to hang some cards. It does have a heavy metal case. Got for a present so I'm not sure what it cost, but I think it might be a bit pricey but it's been holding up real well.

I can assure you that your Swiss Army Pocket watch did not come cheap. My wife bought me a Swiss Army wrist watch for our 33 aniversary back 4+ years ago. I would have taken it back, but she had it engraved. I think it was around $300. It still has the same battery after more than 4 years. I am not easy on wrist watches. It does have a chip on the edge of the crystal and I had to have a pin put in the band. I guess you get what ya pay for.

bought 3 of them last year from Walmart..kind that clip onto the belt. Been abusing them for a year and they haven't stopped. Paid ten bucks apiece. Keep good time too. Not quite pocket watches but close enough. Figure that at that price, I'll pitch them when they break. Probably will pitch them when the batteries go.

After going through 3 pocket watches , Timex too, in 6 months, I bought on of those ones that clip to my belt loop, I have that one about 8 months now and it's still going strong.
Yes, it came from Walmart, just like the Timex's did. around $25 each for the pocket watches, $9.95 for this one

Suprised to find the works of any these waterproof watches filled with hay seed & shaft.
Wonder about old winder-uppers, got doubts about battery powered products.
I just re-familiarize myself with the seasonally changing shadows cast.
Besides, my cell phone has dig-clock. lol.
