Apparently someone from south Missouri posted on a Morel mushroom web site that last weekend they found a very small grey Morel mushroom. Does that mean here in the Heartland Spring has sprung? I can't wait for a good mess of fried 'roons.

Depends on where you are Mark. Even with good weather I don't look for any here in the hills of north central until about the middle of April, maybe a little earlier in the bottons.

We usually don't start finding them here until about the 2nd week in April. Alot of people here go down to the strip mines around Pittsburg, KS and start finding them the latter part of March. We go up to Worth County,MO and have found them as late as Mid May. It all depends on the weather. I can't wait.

with all the fires we had last summer, a type of mushroom grows in abundance in the burned off areas, they are called majic mushrooms, much preferred by the younger generation and some old hippies.

Which of those categories do you fit into? The younger generation, or the old hippies? Lol :)
