I will not pull any punches, it will be hard, I raise registered nubian goats and great pyrenees dogs, with the cost of feed and hay and medical supplies, and fuel, it is costly to even grow your on food, It's your overhead that is the killer of most small bussiness, It cost a lot just to get it off the ground.

Well it depends on how much income you can get off of your land. Do you sell the alfalfa? Do you have room to board horses?

And don't discount your hobbies, I sell stuff on ebay and make $500+ every time I list a few things. Say every 3 or 4 weeks. I helps my wife to be able to stay home even if I can't

Good luck,

Don

produce! here in sw mo if you can grow it you can sell it. people sell at farmers markets on the town square about twice a week. my 15 year old son works for a farmer that has 45 acres of produce.if you don't have a farmers market, start one. a truck garden is a lot of work, but it can make you your own boss.we had a one acre garden last summer. you cannot believe the amount of veggies we sold! plus we canned and froze enough stuff to feed us till next season

seems i heard somethin bout that mar-a-wama stuff being growin with a good markup out in the street. Just don't plant too close to the road or other people will harvest the crop. Just a thought!!
How about planting strawberries for pick your own, sweet corn and plant other graden things. If you live close to a sourse of people, that should be good

The guy that figures out how to make a reliable income from a small farm without the need for a town job could write a book and become a millionaire over night!
