hey ron, i have been busy and wasn,t around till late last night just seen your post with the link to that town fire, what an incrediable story, i saved it to my favorites so i can view the whole site when more time, it sure has changed things there , that coal seam can,t be to far below the ground by the way it affecting the surface, did they ever try flooding the mine , i,ll have to read the whole site, my old home town had a coal dump fire it burned for most of my lifetime they have done most everything but didn,t have much luck, not sure what it,s doin now have to ask my brother sometime, we have a coal seam buring in a mountain underground mine here it has worked it way about 9 miles through the mountain ranges by now , when we were kids we,d go climb up and crawl down into the cracks and get warm in the winter , thanks again for the interesting site.
