I haven't seen one of those in 60 years. When did they stop making them.

I don't know why. they also made a 3 cent piece and a 20 cent piece. I do not have either of them. I do have an 1862, half dime (not a nickel) in really good condition that I am proud of.

I have a Canadian paper 25 cent bill. I believe it was called shinplaster or something like that.

paper fractional currency is rare. I didn't know they made such a thing till a few months ago. I have a 10 cent bill 1874 that is in poor shape.

A scan of it    Posted 03-14-2004 at 14:58:32       [Reply]  [Send Email]
Here is a scan of the paper quarter.

Front

Back

As you can see it has two small holes in it.
Hay can I get into trouble for scanning money even if it is Canadian?

That is in great condition, mine is almost impossible to see in a acan. That quarter is 81 years old and looks really good. I just started collecting this past year, mostly in winter or bad weather days.

Still watching for a 1912 D Mercury head dime. I also have a zink penny someone copper coated trying to pull a swiftie.
