I allmost just gave up today on the whole thing! Now I have to sign up with a drug testing place and be put into another Drug Pool! I am in one for the School Bus I drive and they want me to set up my own testing program also. This means I can be called in for the test by double standards. The test is not a big thing but the 190.00 sign up fee and 75.00 to 95.00 per test given is another think just to duplicate what the school does allready. Then I have to keep a copy of when I drive the school bus in my truck because that adds to the time I can drive! I also have to do a pre/employment drug test so I can hire myself, another 100.00 test which I did for the school allready! Then I have to pay for a driver licence abstract of my driving record same as I did for the school! So I am getting hit with everything double. I also have to keep a time card for every time I drive the truck and a log book if I drive over 100 miles and 7 previous days hours on hand when on the road with it. So I need to track my school job when I drive mine. I also am subject to audits of all my records maintaining my truck if I do anything to it as far as a repair or use of it. I can't belive how much paper work is being required to put out a fire along with the up front money which will be topping 6,000.00 soon not counting the truck cost! What a way for them to generate jobs for others off my back & wallet!@! I hope I get a pay check some day after I do all this to pay the bill. Mark H.

Just a tip. Do NOT eat any poppy seed bread before testings. A trucker friend of mine took a loaf of his wifes bread with him on a route..two days later a surprise drug test. He couldnt figure it out for the longest time on why it failed..then one drug tester asked him if he had eaten poppy seeds.
It took some doing to get it all cleared up. He was off work for awhile and hurting financially.
Just thought I'd share this with ya.

Wait until you actually do some work for them. If you think paper work is a killer now. Be lucky if you get a pay check within six months after it is all turned in.

They are people here still waiting for their money from the flood debris they cleaned up here last Fall. Some are owed thousands of dollars.

Our Contract states max of 40 days to be paid in. But you have to turn in your paper work correctly. That may be the claus your talking about. Mark H.

Must have been like the 23 page book on how to put your hard hat on and keep it clean that I got with my new 49.00 fire hard hat that they changed the rule right after I bought it back to the old ones being OK! Now I have 3 helmets I can wear. It will never end to many people have jobs doing/thinking of the paper work. Mark H.

You know Willy, the War on Business can cause people to get resourcefull like them Canagans up 97 a couple of hrs. They make good money and no pesky gobement regulations either. Them War on Drugs Fellows should take a look at what the War on Buisness Dept. is doing and fix it, Fast.

that is absolutly ridiculous. How many times does it take to show you are clean. More government is what we need. I thought the dems were gonna reinvent things a few years ago but all they did was invent the internet.

I have been checked so many times! I have had a FBI Back ground check, Washington State Patrol, Okanogan Sherif, City Police, 3 drug tests and now I got to do more. Each year they do a back ground check again. I can't drink alcohal at all 5 days a week and drive, no antihistome over the counter cold medication, no pain drugs from the doctors and the list goes on. Now I have to do the drug screening again. Never in 5 years have I ever missed any or failed on test? It just blows my mind!! Mark H.

Those who write the rules are bureaucrats mark. They're unable to grasp the concept of a day's work. They've never had the talent or ability or guts to get real jobs, so they just hide in cubicles, covet retirement benefits and generate ways to hassle real people. Be glad they don't infest our bedrooms or they'd put an end to mankind. Still wonder why i've given up praying for them? :)
I remember when Prez Reagan appointed a committee of 5 to investigate the efficiency of committees - it's still going but now has over 31 members. Like the british empire, documents abound but i doubt it'll ever reach a conclusion. :)

Yes they add and add and the finish due date gets closer. Watch I won't meet there dead line and it will be a total loss of money and time! Then they can let it burn till it gets to my house!! Mark H.

Let's see now. You buy your own truck, re-build it from the frame up, buy a tank, pto, and pump, go to fire man school, donate the truck & your time, and now they want you to pay for a drug testing program? Can you say "kiss my A$$"? Sell the truck and tell them to find another chump.

If they use me I get about 1,200.00 a day but at this rate I will have to work 40 - 12hr days just to break even!! I allmost told them that today when I found out the extra things I have to do now!! Mark H.

Sounds to me you need to know somebody? Local State reprsentative from your district say. A local Chief of Police, The Co Sheriff. A Mayor.
I'm sure you have friends. Ask their help, suggestions, influence.
I did, a couple/three times ove the years.
I had pride and found those to share it with me.
Good Luck

This is the Federal Goverment wanting all this! The state guys realy don't care but no work till you meet the NEW Federal standards. A lot of this has to do with 911 Teriorest Planning. Mark H.

yeah and you'll be disappointed at the drug test too. They claim it's a drug test but nobody had any drugs to test. We all just peed in a cup and went home.

Jack up your hourly fee for the rig....they either pay or watch things go up in smoke.
