I mostly stay out of the discussions about what consenting adults do in their own homes because I firmly believe it is none of my business...However...

Even I think this is wayyy beyond what needs to be in school or even discussed with my child without my consent or approval...

Salmoneye, Who Can Still Be Stunned By How 'Liberal' The Schools Are

I may get the skillit for the content of this but we have a 10 year old, forth grader at our house. For about two weeks he has been talking about soon having to watch "the film" at school. They saw it this week. It is about puberty, how it affects young folks, boys saw one version, girls another. He came home talking about such subjects as wet dreams, erections, sperm count, masturbation, alternative lifestyles, and such. He also had a little booklet that had all the necessary drawings. I just have a little problem with this, seems a little young to go into such detail. He is all excited about it too, kept talking about it. Tonight I am going to sit him down and talk about it with him, again.

We've made no bones about where babies come from in our house. Fact is there are fathers out there that are your sons age and younger. They need to know how it happens, how to prevent it, and to take responsibility if it does happen. I know we all would like to give "the Talk" at our own pace. Remember most of our grandparents were getting married in their early teens. kids at my sons school were "dating" at a very early age.

Reinforce what the school has taught, add in your own values and expectaions now while they can be ingrained in his personality.

Maybe your grandparents were getting married in their teens but mine weren't, nor were their parents. My parents were 27 and 26 when they got married. My grandparents were 32, 27, 24 and 23 when they got married. My wife and I were 21.
Parents are to blame for letting this kind of thing happen. Too lazy to do what needs doing themselves and more than willing to let the school do it. At age 10, that is just sickening.
Is it any wonder that homeschooling and private schooling is becoming more popular by leaps and bounds.

I agree that they grow up faster than we did but I would like to have known ahead of time what was going on. I work at this school district and it was a surprise to me. I have no idea who taught the class, or what was said about which topic, "alternate lifestyles" for example. Half of these kids can't enter college without remedial classes but they know waaaay too much about the birds and bees. By the time they are 12 there is nothing left to the imagination or to look forward to. IMO
BTW-it is good to see you on here again, you were missed.

That is where it should be talked about, is at home with a 'sane' person that loves them...

I just know I am going to be torn apart when my kid gets to that age...May have to convince The Wife that she should attend school that day...She is a nurse...

Right, I read about this book before, the author is dutch and very young also, presently living in Holland. The book is a translation from the dutch and, germans, to name only one, are not too happy about the book either.

Seperate Church from State..

People fly off of the handle about such things.
Who is to blame?
We vote them into office and let them lead us.
The goverment banned Religon from schools.
Since Homos dont belong in a religious group. I quess it is ok for them to enter schools and brain wash kids.

Then I here people screaming about countries like Spain.

The people told the Goverment leaders that if they send troops to Iraq that they would be done away with. Spain sent in troops. The people got rid of them just as they said they would and put leaders in that will do what the people of the country want. Not some panty waist judge sitting behind a bench some where.

YOU GO TN.
Make homo'ism a crime against nature. I am behind you all the way.

At least one county in one of the fifty states has enough sense to say enough is enough.

Les you sound just like the Taliban. Why dont we stone the "homos" too??

Patria    Posted 03-19-2004 at 14:00:51       [Reply]  [No Email]
You know Les?
I'm passing on to my kids the right tools or 'arms' to fight with. I'm really tired, and done with swimming agains the current. There's no way back. Or maybe there is, but, we are doing nothing. We are happy to only 'discuss', fight with our brothers, argue, divide, point fingers, find faults elsewhere...Do you see a solution? Do you know how to fix this ailing and sick humanity? Are you willing to do something?
Then do it!
When we start over again? then I'm going to get involved..right now? we're done, gone, fried..unless..we do some house cleaning..

You're exactly right patria, We as citizens'
who have at least a sense of morality,(if theres
enough of us left) needs to ban together, and
try to elect senators and congressmen who have
a little sense of morality. I am a Christian,
BUT i'm not talking only about religious
beliefs, it's about right, wrong, and what's
best for all concerned. My chrldren are grown but
I have grandchildren, and I sure wouldn't like
it if they were FORCED to learn about same-s++
couples in ANY grade of elementary school.
sorry for the rant Gene
