been having increased problems with our 95 ford tranny - seems to miss 2nd gear once it's warm. Take my foot off momentarily and it catches. Any ideas?

There is a guy, Scotty Kilmer, who is a master mechanic in Houston. I submitted your question to him.

I asked:
"...been having increased problems with our 95 ford tranny - seems to miss 2nd gear once it's warm. Take my foot off momentarily and it catches. Any ideas?"

He emailed me back this:
"It's starting to wear out. If you don't want to spend a lot of money to fix the tranny correctly, then sell it QUICK before it gets worse"
Scotty

Not just Windstars, our 1996 Taurus does the same thing. It has been driving me crazy for years (no pun intended). We also have the exact electrical problems mentioned below by Ron, AR.

Has Ford come up with a solution/resolution to any of these issues?

It is a problem with Windstars, do a web search for it, you are probably having electrical problems also, door ajar buzzer, dome lights stay on?

'Bout the only thing I can suggest is to change the oil....got a '89 F150 that was doing the same thing when I bought it, took it to the local service shop, they changed the oil in the tranny and it took awhile, but it finnaly came 'round and started to shift proper. Got me a 2003 Windstar....one great little unit.... adjo, R.E.L.
