Japanese beetles again

Since I just got in from a nasty weekend I thought I'd open up the subject again.

Everybody says they stink when crushed. What do they smell like to you? To me they smell like first-year Box Elder twigs when you break them. I've never found that to be an unpleasant smell.

Best thing I've found to kill them is to spray Raid Wasp & Hornet spray heavily on every crack you can find. Then leave it there. I did that last Fall and I'm finding dead beetles around the cracks.
