So I got married this last weekend to my sweetheart of eleven years... kind of redundant if you consider common law marriage and all that, but it made the fambly happy, so.... ;)
Anyhow, if you were me, would you change all your name stuff? I am feeling verrrrry lazy and do NOT want to have to wait for three days at the Social Security Office and all that. What would you all say?

jeanette    Posted 03-22-2004 at 21:27:52       [Reply]  [No Email]
what last names do your children have? what does hubby think? (ha hubby)how hard is his last name to write? does it sound goofy with your first name.? you'll forget and write your maiden name half the time anyway. congrats again mel!!!!

This is the Wifes '2nd mistake' according to some so she went back to her 'maiden' name after the '1st mistake'...

No sweat...The Girl has my name wife the Wifes paternal grandmothers name as her middle...

But then...Oh...never mind...I could go on and on and who would care...Life is too short...

"Call me what you want...Just don't call me late for Supper"...

...some hyphinate it. If you consistent at it.

My sister has a hyphinated (sp) name, and she reverses it, uses one, or the other...whenever she feels like it, and let me tell you...if you want your records lost...doing that sort of thing will guarantee it!

dave...who used to be a medical records manager.

congrats, by the way!

My wife didn't change her name when we got married 30 years ago. Except for 1 relative that insists we're not married because she didn't "take my last name" we've had no problems. Come to think of it, after several moves I doubt we could lay hands on our wedding license if somebody had to have proof.

Why don't you both pick a brand new name. That way you could confuse everyone, especially the government.

My MIL didn't she was widowed, and said she wasn't about to mess up her social security, and everything else with a new name. No problems for them.

Dennis    Posted 03-22-2004 at 14:23:50       [Reply]  [No Email]
My wife did not change her name at all and we don't have any problems because of it.

Just our experience
