I thought some of you might enjoy this picture of two of my children riding our 1/2 Holstein, 1/2 black Angus milk cow (with her adopted Holstein bull calf at her side). We shut the calf off from her at night and get about 1 gallon to 5 quarts of milk from her in the morning and leave the calf with her the rest of the time.
You might be able to see two of our guinea fowl there under her head.

the old nurse cow method-many a farmer has purchased a cull cow and placed 4 calves on her and made money a plenty. Takes time and effort.
