A slow news night, so: FIL and me in go cart

This is my FIL and myself yesterday as we putted around the place.

He's 88 yrs. old, and was a single engine fighter pilot trainer during WWII and went on to other cool things. (he has 150 hrs in P-51s...whoa!)

Just trying to help him "keep on the edge!"

Ask your FIL if he ever heard of a pilot "Robert DeHaven"?

Ok. Will do.

He's talked plenty about Richard Bong, who went through the same training as he did...did not know him.

I believe Bong was the Pacific theater's highest ace during WWII. Died in the line of work as a test pilot back in CA.
