We had a parakeet a couple of years ago.
He was very possessive of my wife and every
time I kissed her he would dive into my hair.
we used to tease him a lot kissing just to
make hem mad,( not that I didn't mind it tho)
anyway one summer eve. my wife started out and
when she opened the storm door,OUT HE WENT!!
he first went into a couple of 25' Bradford Pear
trees we have. We called and called so he then
took off for the woods behind the house, we chased him, calling all the time and he landed in
the top of a VERY TALL pine and NO ammount of
coaxing would bring him down, then I had a thought!!! I said "kiss me" and Molly said WHAT!!
adn I said "kiss me" and grabbed her and kissed her, making a lot of groaning noise, and sure enough
here he came like a bomb right in my hair and she
grabbed him, squaking and wiggleing.
Glad you got yours back also, Amazing how we
can become so attached to animals.
have a good'un Gene SC

Gene, that kinda backs up that old saying that "you can get more with SUGAR than by yelling" er something along that line.

We had two parakeets that could whistle the Andy Griffith Theme Song and because our grand kids were pre teens at the time, the birds learned to say, "Hey Pop-Pop" We enjoyed them emmencely but they both got away. In each case, I didn't know they were out of their cage and each followed me outside. Those were two very sad days that happened about a year apart.

That was a good story! Good thinking, the kissing brought him right on down! lol Yeah, she is trimmed and staying trimmed. Won't let them grow again. She has such an attitude anyway, or as some people would call it, personality, lol.
