You know you are country when you get a county newspaper and not a city one.

Too small to have a web site as far as I know.

Yep..    Posted 03-27-2004 at 18:44:01       [Reply]  [No Email]
....that is the telling difference. And usually it comes out once or twice a week. Nope no e mail for Putnam but I did find a fact sheet. (grin)

The Altoona Mirror is what we get here, Cindi. What is your column or whatever called?

Cindi    Posted 03-27-2004 at 18:27:22       [Reply]  [No Email]
'USA Farm Tales' is the name. I don't think it's a very good name, but it's what I came up with, and I submitted to the AM. Thank you!

Will you be in print, or the website for the paper?

I have no idea.    Posted 03-27-2004 at 18:02:04       [Reply]  [No Email]
I am submitting three columns to the editor of each paper along with publishing credits and history. Now I have to wait for them to get back to me if they want to use them. My plan is to submit the column to small town papers FOR FREE first. If it catches on, and I can add more publishing credits then the first of the year I will go to the larger papers and ask to be paid.

SHeiserman    Posted 03-27-2004 at 18:17:32       [Reply]  [No Email]
Sounds like a plan. Good luck.

Plymouth (NH) Record-Enterprise to the south of me and Littleton Courier to the north. Both owned by the same outfit which doesn't impress me much. Stopped buying some years ago when it went to 75 cents.
I appreciated the local paper a lot more when I was away in the service.

Thanks Les...    Posted 03-27-2004 at 14:30:19       [Reply]  [No Email]

The Ellsworth American, but don't count on it, they think awfully highly of themselves. I useta work for the stuck up pricks. If it didn't happen to someone who owns a Mercedes, it didn't happen, as far as they're concerned. Except for the Police Report, of course. Us commoners feature prominently there...

The Ellsworth Weekly is a little more down to earth, see the link. The American is also on the web, do a google on the full title.
