I got a bad case of hic-ups out at a rest. Sunday evening. The barmaid had the cure. I am not kidding. These were bad hic-ups, about every 8 seconds and with me this kind last a long time no matter what I do.Here is the magic cure: You put your index fingers in both ears. Have someone hold up a glass of water and you drink it all down. Now as explained to me THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART. You have to make sure you swallow the last mouthful of water before you take your fingers out of your ears. Sounds weird, but honest to God it worked the first time. She said it works everytime. Anyone else got a cure?

Drink out of the wrong side of a glass.Stand over the sink with a full glass of water. Lean forward. Bring the side of the glass rim farthest from your body up to your lips and sip the water. The trick is to sort of gulp the water, as it relaxes the muscles in your throat and helps you stop hiccuping. You can also take short gulps of water from a glass the regular way. It is in the swallowing action that will stop the hiccuping!

My Grandfather was an MD. While in anatomy classes for his degree he noted a common nerve bundle that ran from the kittle nubs in front of the ear opening down each side of the neck, joined into one then went down to the diaphram under the lungs. Preasure applied to these "nubs" till it starts to hurt while holding your breath will make the hiccups go away every time!

A spoonful of sugar sometimes stops hiccups. Or a spoonful of peanut butter.
