I saw a couple farmers working ground late last week here in PA. It's definitly too early for most years, but it had been dry and windy for more than a week, so a guess they decided to give it a try.
Started raining this week, so all that has come to a halt.
The Amish are getting after it though, their mules don't seem to mind the mud.

Yeah Dave, the Amish like mud. They make extra money pulling out stuck tractors........gfp

i bet they have to start early doing it by hand, we were just talking last night about how much easier farming is today than when we were growing up, or in our parents day heck no body even walks beans around here anymore, not even very many bean buggies

I know several amish families and they continue to do everything the hard way. But, ya know what, at the end of the day, I don't think they are as tired as the farmers that have all that mechanized equipment. It seems all that hard work keeps them in better shape. .......gfp
