I haunt the Taler's borad over on the YT boards but this mornn' and all last night it has been down and off the web ,,, sure do miss it ,,, I have time to time come over here and posted so I figure that a few of the others will drift on by and may say hello ... Looks to be a wet snowy day here in MA, if not just gray and raw ... Where is spring ? Couple more hours left here at work and then it home for my week end .. I hope to at least get over to the farm and do something not sur what but something ,,, theres plenty to do ..
Take care all and be safe ..
Bill g.,
Sure do miss the taler's board ...

Well, I guess ya'll wondered why I had all ya'll gather here. I wanted to get you all in one place to ask each of you to vote for me in the presidential (thats me,El Presidente) election this year. I'm just a poor country boy like yourselves, barely gittin by. Ya'll have seen my wore out farm down in Crawford Texas, I said Texas boy, TEXAS, (ya'll was supposed to stand up when I said that). Ya'll have seen my token tractor in all the press opts, it's some green thing called a John Deere (nothing runs like a deere or smells like a John, as in John Kerry). I'm country through and through, thats why I had all you folks gather here on this country board instead o that Tales where all Mr Burrheads freinds gather. Please dis-regard any thing that Steve 19438 says about me and five dollar a gallon gasoline. He has lots of oil stock he wants to get rich off of and buy country land and split it up into little bitty lots for city folks to move to the country on. Please vote for me. Remember vote early, vote often.

Didn't I just read the other day that we were gonna stop with the political junk????

never take anything seriously that was poked in fun! I posted that, an effort at humor, aimed at all those Talers going through withdrawal this morning. Sorry ya got your drawers in a knot. And yes I plan on voting for Bush & I like seeing Burrhead's posts for his brand of humor and I don't care if gas does go to 5 bucks a gallon, I have a 3 yard commute to work. From now on I will stick to drunken horses relieving themselves on saloon elevators, that is serious stuff and won't upset ya.

Stormie    Posted 04-04-2004 at 13:36:11       [Reply]  [No Email]
Who said I was upset? Who said I took anything seriously? I just thought I read something about people wanting to get off the political topics for a while. Someone even gave a link to where others could go to give their political points of view. Someone else said Kim wouldn't put up with it.

I was just asking if it is okay to talk politics or not? Or is it only okay for those who share the same view? I guess I am confused.
As far as your comment about horses and saloon elevators....well I am at a loss becasue I have no idea what you are talking about. Anyway, maybe you should lighten up! I thought your post was funny. I am just not sure who is allowed to talk and post political stuff and who isn't? Maybe you could clear it up for me.

POLITICALLY CORRECT!!!

We have been informed that the Arabs do not like to be called "towel heads."

The item they wear on their heads is actually a small sheet.

Effective immediately, please call them "little sheet heads."

While your machine is up and running, take a few minutes to backup yer files folks. Just shove in a floppy (or 2) and start copying. These things are only glorified radios & CAN surprise you, and yesterday mine did. First it couldn't find some DLL file, then everytime i booted it was an illegal operation, then finally even the master resovery disc wouldn't boot. After the 3rd try it did, but in the process i lost all my tax papers, favorites, pictures, sketches - something like 10,000 things i use. So don't get caught completely nekked. I have no idea what started it - i'm just thankful to be able to get online again. :)

CDs are even better for backing things up. They hold a lot more, and are more indestructable than floppys. In fact, most new computers don't even come with a floppy disk drive.

"Floppy Disc Drive"? Is that when you get a flat on your tractor or pick up truck? Floppy disc drive? Yep, sounds about right. :)

Newgen    Posted 04-04-2004 at 09:42:48       [Reply]  [No Email]
No, I think a floppy disc is what you get when you hook a 13' disc behind a 180 HP tractor and pull it through a rocky field in road gear--

Mawnin', Folks.

Tales has been a little cantankerous for a couple of days now. Some sort of intestinal disorder, no doubt.

If everything goes according to plan (Hah! Like THAT'S gonna happen...) I should be done with Stage One of The Honey-Do List from Heck today. Got the stairwell panelled with beaded pine, and the upstairs hallway all prepped last night, just gotta put up the panelling and the chair rail and I get to take a break for a few days.

Might even get a chance to wrench on the murdersickle...

Did you catch the pictures of Cliff's creation at work that I posted on Tales yesterday?

BW= I did also ,,,    Posted 04-04-2004 at 04:57:51       [Reply]  [No Email]

My husband is paranoid about scratches and dents, and he likes things neat. He and I are so opposite that way, it's like God played a practical joke putting us together. After 38 years together, though, we put up with one another pretty well.

Cliff wishes he'd gotten one size larger John Deere, but once he gets this one paid off he can always trade up. And he surely IS enjoying this one.

Fawteen    Posted 04-04-2004 at 04:50:39       [Reply]  [No Email]
Yeah, I did. Looks like it works pretty good too!

Me, I just do that with my bucket and let the scratches fall where they may. Of course, my tractor is 16 years old too, I might approach it differently if I had a shiney new one like that!

Newgen    Posted 04-04-2004 at 06:36:51       [Reply]  [No Email]
16 year old tractor? Man that's modern! My two main tractors are both 33 years old, and the loader tractor turns 40 this year! But thry hang in there and do what they're supposed to do, I'm enough of a halffast mechanic to keep them running and thick skinned enough not to care if the local superfarmers make fun of me for running old equipment. {actually I kind of enjoy the attention} LOL

Fawteen - My other tracto    Posted 04-04-2004 at 06:49:06       [Reply]  [No Email]
is old enough to draw Social Security! 1938 Farmall.

Newgen    Posted 04-04-2004 at 08:13:03       [Reply]  [No Email]
And would that 1938 Farmall by chance be an F-Fawteen?

Ffawteen    Posted 04-04-2004 at 09:35:12       [Reply]  [No Email]

Didja stutter? ":^)

Ayuh, it's a F-14.

Newgen    Posted 04-04-2004 at 09:45:22       [Reply]  [No Email]
Hey, that's a nice looking F-14-{and coming from me that's a real complement-I'm a John Deere man} LOL

I'm with you, BW... getting through the morning without Talers is as bad as trying to face the day without coffee.

Les    Posted 04-04-2004 at 03:45:33       [Reply]  [No Email]
This could get serious if Kim doesn't get it fixed soon.

I have always come here from the link on the N-Board...

Took me a minute last night to figure that it was just YT that was down and not the whole net for me...

I finally figured it was just YT, came here through the gateway and then this placed crashed for a bit...

For what it's worth....    Posted 04-04-2004 at 04:43:07       [Reply]  [No Email]
...I couldn't get on this board all day yesterday, but I could last night, so maybe it's temporary with YT too.
