I have just read the post about calf scours and some of the remendies. One of the homemade remendies we have used is to make a dough ball with vinegar and water and give it to the calf. One sunday afternoon I noticed a bottle fed cals starting to scour and
saince I had nothing on hand I poured a half bottle of Pepto Bismol down him he straightened out right away. We have used electrolyte products used gatorade jello mixed in warm water and about anything else you could imagine and they all worked but just as sure as we thought we had it figured out and had a fool proof remendy worked out it would not work. Apperently sometimes the scours is a symptom of a more serious problem if an improvement is noticed in 24 hrs time we get a hold of the Vet and see what miracle drugs they are using this go around. the most I have ever had at one time is fifteen and not a problem and then with just two I would have problems one after the other. It sure can be a tricky project to raise calves on the bottle.
