So far my column has been accepted for newspapers in Highlands, Hardee, Desoto, Polk, Orange, Lee, Baker, Bradford and Alachua Counties. The latest one is on the Florida/Georgia border. The closer I creep toward Georgia, the less satisfied I am with the name. It's called Farm tales right now. Yuck. Can anyone think of a new more catchy name? Something humorous? I would greatly appreciate any help or suggestions.

How about "Country Mouser Tales", "Country Tails" or just "Mouser Tales?" Or "The Florida Mouser?"

I have always liked Farm Tales. How about just adding something to it, like....Knee Deep In Farm Tales?
Or
Mucking It Out
Or, hey, how about Pork-N- Beings, LOL
Just kidding.

Cindi, Many years ago there was a radio program that dealt with grain and livestock prices and featured such notable entertainers as Ralph Stanley and Mac Wiseman. The program to which I refer was called "Farm and Fun Time".

You might want to consider naming your column "Farm & Fun time with Cindi....Just a thought.......gfp

I guess I shoulda....    Posted 04-09-2004 at 16:18:41       [Reply]  [No Email]
....mentioned that I don't use my name on my columns, just my initials...C J Mouser. What does anybody think of these...

Simple Times
or
The "Simple" Life
or...
"Kountry Life"!

Now that's a thinker...

From the Golden Gazette in Naples (Collier County) today:

Hee hee. Sure enjoyed the samples. I, too, write a humorous family life column, but have yet to write about gambrels!! I think the folks down here will enjoy it.

Thanks!

Kaydee Tuff

P.S. What is the name of your column?

***I forgot to include the name! So...here's my chance to change it before they start to run it.

-"Farm Tales"-
Sounds humorous enough already..:-)
I like the ring to it, somehow.

Cindi    Posted 04-09-2004 at 11:37:19       [Reply]  [No Email]
You really think so? It's not too simple?

I have been racking my brain...Hog Calls...or Southern Country Living....or something. Anything!

Deadcarp    Posted 04-09-2004 at 11:52:45       [Reply]  [No Email]
Okay, how about something that relates to an outdoors image. "Yard Clippings", "Fly Tracks"(nope, too fishing) "Corral Droppings", "Another Hairball" or maybe imaginative - "Composting Cud", "Cooking with Cowpies" or "UFOReport".. :)

EngineerJoyce    Posted 04-09-2004 at 11:57:24       [Reply]  [Send Email]
Ah!

Road Apples!

That's the local term for Horse poop, as it has been left on the road from the latest trail ride.

deadcarp    Posted 04-09-2004 at 16:44:35       [Reply]  [No Email]
I like "Road Apples". Like it alot. My reaction kinda reminds me of the 3rd brothel customer (looking a bit green) to come downstairs "Well see, she covered it with whipped cream, scooped warm chocolate, sprinkled chopped nuts, topped it with a fresh maraschino and it looked so good i ate it myself!" lol

dig    Posted 04-09-2004 at 12:26:48       [Reply]  [No Email]
You want Cindi to title her true stories with the vulgar term for lies? "That's a loada . . . . an you know it" kinda thing.

How bout "Note from the Outside"

EngineerJoyce    Posted 04-09-2004 at 12:40:16       [Reply]  [Send Email]
;-( didn't mean to make it sound like that...

I was thinking more like "evidence left behind of a fun time had" than "you're fulluvit!"

Best of luck, Cindi. I guess everybody has a different take on just about anything that's said.

Cindi    Posted 04-09-2004 at 17:14:03       [Reply]  [No Email]
Joyce, I didn't take a thing you said as derogatory. No harm done.
