One Easter week-end I remember from long ago was in the forties . We had a bad blizzard and the mail-man could not get to our house with some baby chicks
So my Mother and us four kids walked a half mile to meet him with a hand sled and some blankets and bought the chicks home that way . She put them in a spare room up stairs with news paper on the floor . They stayed there until they started to get feathers . What a mess that was . I guess most of them survived

Your mom wasn't going to let those chicks die, she went after those babies, good for her. Kind hearted soul she is.

Where did you live back then?
