In Your Eyes....by Peter Gabriel

Because, Ian and I went through a really bad time early on in our marriage. 4 years into it, I was out of control, he was not giving me what I needed, and things went really downhill. We almost didnt make it. He waited and stuck it out, I got a wake up call, nearly died, taught me to respect life and love. We got back together, and this song describes our lives. Let me share the lyrics with you.

Love, I get so lost, sometimes
Days pass and this emptiness fills my heart,
When I want to run away,
I drive off in my car,
But whichever way I go,
I come back to the place you are

Chorus:

All my instincts, they return
And the grand facade, so soon will burn
Without a noise, without my pride,
I reach out from the inside
In your eyes
The light the heat,
In your eyes,
I am complete,
In your eyes,
I see the doorway to a thousand churches,
In your eyes,
The resolution of all the fruitless searches,
I your eyes,
I see the light and the heat,
In your eyes,
Oh, I want to be that complete,
I want to touch the light the heat,
In your eyes

Love, I don't like to see so much pain,
So much wasted and this moment keeps slipping away,
I get so tired of working so hard for our survival,
I took to the time with you to keep me awake and alive

Chorus

In your eyes, In your eyes
In your eyes, In your eyes
In your eyes, In your eyes

Everybody has a song, some have just forgotten. This one is eternal in my heart. Anytime I start to forget, I listen to this song, and it reminds me, to be thankful for what I have today.

"The Promised Land" Freddy Weller version
"Okie From Muscogie" By Merle Haggard

I was taking care of dinner.
Sorry DD, didn't mean it the way it 'sounded':-)

hm there are many songs I love, it's difficult to choose only one but there are a few I never get tired of listening to: Hotel California, Time in a Bottle, Sweet Home Alabama, Welcome to the Jungle, some from Ted Nugent, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck. I like also this new band from California, Incubus, "Drive". Jazz also and some jazz fussions. And Salsa [latin] of course.
Being listening to some country and to be honest I'm lost. Seems like I tend to like the cheerful ones with funny lyrics that one can dance to. Not there yet..:-(

Maybe top ten favorites that you can think of at the moment.
...and then there are the different categories, classic rock, country, blue grass, etc.

Good call, Cindi. When that song was popular I was on my first date with a real cutie. But since she could do better it was also our LAST DATE. :(

Cindi, our minds are in cinc. Before I started reading the responses, I was thinking "Last Dance". When that tune was at the top of the charts, I was a soldier in Oklahoma, (1961). Loved it then......Loved it ever since. ......gfp
