Need help!! 1070 Case Good or Bad???

been looking into getting a better tractor around my place i live on a 14 acre acreage...i need a tractor to put up about 5 acres of alfalfa and i like to bale all the roadsides and what ever else grass i can find i also have a IH 950 grinder to grind feed for my hogs i need to run.... i use a john deere 24T baler i pull a john deere tandem disk once in a while and blade my driveway and pull a manure only tractors have been a John Deere A and a oliver 880 i would like to have a loader on my 880 and have a tractor without loader kind of a all around workhorse for all my needs the dealer in town has a Case 1070 for $5,500 ive been looking at and he has a 1370 for a thousand more both seem to be in good conditon and both start and run well wondering if it is to much tractor to handle all my stuff or just right?? i really like the AC and Heat in the cab!! So any comments good or bad would be great

sounds like plenty of tractor for you, but I'd say go for it! a 1070 is around 105 hp, Yes, you only need a tractor about 1/2 that're going to pay just as much for one at 50 hp and probably not have the a/c or heat...or even a cab for that matter

We had a 1070 for several years, and it was a very good, dependable tractor. Used it mainly for wagons, chopping stalks, and snowblower duty. Powershift never gave us trouble. Starts easy in cold weather (had a tank heater). I think it would be a little big for what you need, but that is your call. You'll have it if you need it. It's a lot of tractor for the money. If you want more technical info, Fern is right, head over to the Case board.
