Speaking of insurance, how many farmers here do carry crop coverage? I know there are insurance requirements for lots of things, house, busines, cars, death insurances out there. Libel ins. rates, and you may have guessed it, someone waiting to collect said insurance, folks that trip, fall in stores, make a killing at times, scarey too...because some make a living from just doing this type of fraud, rackets......

I carry crop insurance at the 75% level. Can't afford to be without it. Carried the 85% level last year but the cost difference from 75-85% coverage was about as much as what the actual covarage payout was so dropped back to 75% this year. At a cost of over $250 per acre just to put a corn crop in the ground I can't afford to be without. Insurance cost is about $7 per acre.

Oh, have you met our agent Don Vito Corleone? Or maybe his adjusters Sammy the Snake and Joey the Bull?
