depends on the location and weather. Around here most farmers plant about the last week of April, a few will jump the gun if the weather is supposed to be warmer than normal. The again, one of my neighbors never plants before the third week of May, says he wants the soil to be warm so the corn germinates faster. There's a saying that the corn should be knee high by the 4th of July, and most make that anyway.

here in iowa we usually plant the last week in april, this year the spring has been very warm and dry, we need rain bad already.... uh oh it might be rain dance time.
