Since these Iraqi's want us out of their country so bad and it was so good when Saddam was running the show......let's make them an offer.....
Ask them if they want ole Saddam back?...We got him, we can put him back in if that's what they really want. See what France and all the other opposing countries if that's what they would like to see happen.
I bet they would change thier attitude if they thought that was going to happen.

As I understand it, about half the country would like things the way they were before Saddam's overthrow. After all, they had electric, jobs and food. Their economy is a shambles, jobless rate is through the roof, and simple utilities have not been totally restored. They'd take Hitler right now, if given the choice. America's insistence on a democracy is doomed to failure. For a thousand years the Iraqi's have either been ruled by Religious dictators or other strong arm dictators. Too many factions that would fight rather than give a little and get along with those they oppose. Kurds vs Shiites vs Sunnis. Thay have never played Peacefully in their own Sandbox unless a bully was there to force them to get along. It will be years at best before they could tolerate each other enough to have a democracy. The only thing uniting them now, is our presence. If we pulled out now there would be mass genocide. It is like three brothers who constantly fight, but will unite and fight when some stranger tries to force them to get along.

my thought is to get all our boys out for awhile and let them kill each other off and then we'll go in and do mop-up.they won't get along for only 2 min.and start killing each other.

I agree with you on that one Donna, wholeheartedly!

We should have left well enough alone to begin with. This was one big mistake. You can see why Saddam killed so many people. Those religious fanatics are too violent and self-righteous to let live. It was a relatively modern country before we went in, other than the deprivations our useless 12 years of sanctions had caused. I'm afraid we have now turned it into another middle ages slum, which is exactly why George Bush senior was told NOT to topple Hussein 14 years ago.

I've always thought...    Posted 04-16-2004 at 16:40:18       [Reply]  [No Email]
....that it takes someone like Saddam to control those idiots. Also, I never ment to actually put Saddam back in power, just use the threat of doing so and make it seem as it it is going to happen just to make a point to the world and to see what kind of reaction that you get. Plus another idea.......give the whole place to the palestinians!!! LOL!

I think France would rejoice and celebrate if he were to come back. They were in his pockets big time.

Clipper    Posted 04-16-2004 at 12:00:14       [Reply]  [No Email]
Nope to the give-back of Saddam....too much American blood has been shed there...I'm all for B-52 carpet bombing in areas where they have located the two-legged snakes that are still causing our boys grief....let the women/children out and start the bombing.

DD    Posted 04-16-2004 at 13:47:32       [Reply]  [No Email]
I agree with ya Clipper, BUT, did they give one seconds thought to OUR Innocent Women & Children? I try REALLY HARD to NOT hate anyone, but with these Lil sheetheads it's almost impossible when I see them dancing in the streets and celebrating about the loss of American lives. JMO, Don't mean to offend anyone : )

I seond that motion, we gotta still have a few neutron bombs left hid someplace.

No No No. Naplam works better. Then we could have Crispy Iraqis.

Texas    Posted 04-16-2004 at 12:12:22       [Reply]  [No Email]
I agree with Chipper. Its time to start playing their game and quit plodding along bound by our ethics and morality. An arc-light bombing would dang sure get their attention. A few daisy cutters dropped over known areas of revolt would calm things.

Texas    Posted 04-16-2004 at 12:15:12       [Reply]  [No Email]
Sorry...thats Clipper....not Chipper.
