big egg on my face. not fuel injected. Guess I may have to see what it inside the carb. Sorry guys, just goes to prove you can't believe anyone over 70

Then it is easier to trouble shoot. If you got spark and air then the next thing to look for is fuel flow. I would drop the float bowl and check for junk in the bowl. Then I would clean the jets out good and blow air thru all the little openings in the carb. That may be all that is wrong. PS they do make fuel injected engines now for lawn tractors and such. Mark H.

Then it might be a sticky valve - pull the plug, squirt a healthy drool of crc in there and try it again this afternoon. :)
