Thanks so much! I am so proud of my handy work! I have Buff Orpingtons, they are about 4 months old now, and I have speckled sussex that are about a month old now. I tell ya, they have totally different personalities. The buffs were always so calm. I could take them out of the brooder, they would lay on me, snuggle with me. The sussex are so spastic! They are hyper and very curious. They are finally getting used to me now, but they don't want to cuddle, they just want to use me as a perch! LOL!

Thats what i thought they were, the buff color
kinda gives them away. orpingtons are great layers. in a couple of months they will ba a lap
full. The Sussex is a very handsome bird. keep
us posted on their growth.

My husband thinks I am nuts, I will have one perched on me, and say "Look Ian, isn't she a pretty girl???" He will just look at me, and say "Kelly, they are chickens" and I will say "I know, but just look at how sweet". Yep, they are for eggs, not eating. But don't go and think I don't eat their cousins! LOL! I like meat, I just don't want to kill it myself, when I can get a whole rotisserie chicken fully cooked and seasoned for four dollars at the grocery store! :) I guess if I HAD to I would, but I don't want to. They are sweet little brainless creatures, and I love to go out and sit on the grass and feed them treats. Birdseed, cracked corn, greens, they love it.
