Porch Swings

Hi All,

I've never posted here before but I've been reading daily for several months now. When my wife suggested that we buy a porch swing, I checked around locally but could not find any at all. Then I thought that this forum may be a good one to get recommendations. Generally the ones I find on the net look cheap but one, www.oakswings.com looks pretty good. Anyone ever dealt with this place? Any suggestions on locating a good white or red oak porch swing?

Thanks,
Greg

Welcome Greg! My Feed Store has some real nice swings. Made out of Oak too I believe. They have been left kinda natural, and treated and all that, the wood. Really pretty stuff.

Hi Greg, welcome a'board.

Sorry I cant help much on the swing.
I have one, it is wood, but I haven't a clue what kind of wood.
I bought it several years ago from a local building supply/lumber co.

The place I referenced, www.oakswings.com, is located in Russelville, AL - just north of Cullman.

Have you ever heard of MTW Creative Woodworking in Russelville? I do have a little hesitation paying someone $300+ in advance in hopes that a swing will show up at my gate in 2-3 weeks.

Thanks,
Greg

no - i have never heard of them. russelville about 1 hr north west of me. if i liked their swing i would call and get a "feel" of them before ordering. do not think i would be too afraid of company.
