Has anyopne ever rented one of these? My truck has the right category hitch, and a pigtail for lights and brakes and what not. Do I have to have the seperate trailer brake component? Someone let me know, I didn;t think to ask when I reserved the thing.

We rented a 2-wheel Ryder dolly to tow the Honda from Ca to Mn behind the rental truck. It had a dandy mechanical trailer brake built right into the tongue. (If the tongue was trying to shorten, the brake came on.) We kept kicking everthing at check-points and all seemed well til we got it here & went to unhook. The socket had apparently worked loose and the ball was actually egg-shaped. (and the socket lifted right off - so the car weight had been keeping it together) I replaced the ball but gave it to the rental place for a reminder. Outside of that, no problem. :)

I rented one last year to haul a full size pickup from Missouri to Florida and I did not need truck breaks. In fact I dont even think the dollys are equiped with breaks.
